Year in Review- 2015

I know not a lot of people care about my ‘year in review’ but I love having the opportunity to be able to write all of this down. This blog provides an outlet for me to share my life and all the memories I am making, and even if I don’t have a huge following or make money from this, I still love it.

It’s almost 2016, and as I get ready to host a New Year’s Eve party with my friends, this is my time to look back and reflect on another amazing year.

  • I studied abroad. This is definitely the biggest thing- I traveled to 13 countries, over 40 cities, and I saw and did things that I never would have experienced before. There were a lot of laughs, a lot of tears, a lot of sleepless nights, a lot of rough bus, plane, and train rides, 2 falls off my bike, a lot of beer and coffee consumed, a lot of loooong study sessions at Bagels and Beans with my roommate, Julia, thousands of pictures taken, and about a million memories made that I could never replace. For every one day when I thought the world was ending and I wanted to go home, there are thirty more days where I never wanted to leave Amsterdam and loved every single second of it.

  • I graduated. Ok, maybe this is the biggest thing. I am so grateful to my parents for giving me the opportunity to go to Hofstra and experience so many amazing things. Yes, I am glad to be back home, but I wouldn’t trade my time at Hofstra for anything. There was no where else where I could intern at major news companies, host student-run television shows, take incredible classes (and a few crappy ones) with great professors, join a fantastic organization that allowed me to grow and learn, dance on Broadway, and study abroad all in three and a half years. I have so many memories from Hofstra, some good, some not-so-good, and some really freakin’ awesome, and I am proud to be an alumna.

  • I got the chance to live and work in Austin and become closer to a friend, one whom I could not live without now.
  • I had the chance to intern at my DREAM company, NBC, something I had dreamed of for years and years, and it was a dream to walk through the doors of 30 Rock every week.
  • I’m still dating a pretty great guy, who I could go on and on about but I don’t want to get too sappy….

2015 Year in Review

I imagined my list being so much longer, but now that I think about it, a lot of my memories come from these few things- studying abroad, my time at Hofstra, my summer in Austin. This isn’t a detailed list of how amazing my year was, but honestly I could write an entire book about all of the crazy things that have happened this year. I am incredibly blessed and thankful for all of the people in my life who helped make this year far better than I expected.

I’m excited to see what 2016 has in store, and I hope everyone has a happy New Year!
