Spring Semester Outfit Ideas

It hasn’t quite hit me that I won’t be starting a new semester at Hofstra on Tuesday, but I am a little grateful to not be flying into a snowstorm! I am also super happy to not be on the floor of my room, stressed about what to pack for the spring semester. This got me thinking- what would I be wearing if I was still in school?

While my wardrobe mostly consists of casual clothes right now (aka leggings every day y’all), and will transition into more work-appropriate office attire, a lot of you are either already into spring semester or about to start! So, I rounded up a few outfits you can put together to stay cute all semester long!

This is pretty much my go-to outfit for class- sweater, jeans, comfy scarf, and ankle boots. A big chunky heel makes it comfy for walking around all day (remember, I was on a small campus!) but at the same time elevates your look a little bit (literally). I’m really loving blush/cream tones for spring, mostly thanks to Pantone. Fun fact: the school of communication at Hofstra was re-named for the Pantone founder and the building ended up getting covered in Pantone swatches.

For those chillier days when you’re itching to get out your spring colors but stuck trudging through snow in your Bean boots, try brighter colors that pop. Fun camp socks, a bright-colored button up under your sweater, or a colored scarf that makes the winter/spring mess just a little bit more bearable.

And when it finally warms up, bust out your Pantone-inspired look and all the Lilly you can get your hands on, cause spring is coming and then it’s summer, y’all! There’s a bunch of shift dresses in my closet calling my name and while it IS still January and it’s not that cold in Texas, I’m still pining for warmer weather, brighter colors, and weekends in Lilly.

What’s your perfect outfit for class? And good luck to everyone, especially all my seniors starting their last semester!!
