Year of the Monkey

When it is 70 degrees and sunny in February, there is no choice but to spend all your time outside! Saturday was one of those perfect ‘winter’ days that makes me so happy to be home. It also happened to be the Chinese New Year festival at the Crow Collection of Asian Art downtown.

The Crow is part of the Dallas Museum of Art, and they pretty much shut down a few blocks of the area for the festival.

There were food trucks, arts and crafts, vendors, and performances all spread out. Of course, because we’re 5 years old, we had to head inside and find the crafts…

We took a break from the festival and walked a block over to Klyde Warren Park, probably the most popular Dallas spot on a weekend. Somehow, I had never been to the park, so we had to take it all in!

We had to take a little snack break and stopped at Savor; a seat on the patio was a must for people watching!

To end the night, we headed back for the lion dancing and fireworks! It was a perfect way to kick off the new year!
