What I’m Taking to London

What to pack for London

As of today, I have 2 more weeks until I’m off to London! Since I’m a planner, I’ve already been working on my packing list and what we’ll be doing/seeing every day. I’ve been once, for a quick weekend trip while I was studying abroad, but I would love any tips/recommendations/etc! Before I pack up, I wanted to share what I’ll be bringing along and what to pack for London and its unpredictable weather!

We’ll be in London for 5 full days, and I plan on re-wearing all the pieces I’m bringing several times. Since I know I’ll probably be bundled up in my trench coat (similar here) 90% of the time, I’m keeping my outfits simple and easy to mix and match. Think lots of basics, neutrals, and layers!

Can you go to England and not bring Hunter boots? No, the answer is no. I wore mine almost every day the last time I was there! I have a few pairs, but I’m bringing my packable ‘Tour’ boots.  If you’re already scratching your head, I swear these things can roll up and fit in the bottom of a backpack! They are perfect for travel, weekend trips, and they are much more comfortable to walk around in all day than the original Hunters. I love this outfit for a day trip to the country!

I am really not one for all-black outfits, but they just seem so appropriate for London. My mom recently snagged these Kate Spade tights for me, and they definitely just earned a spot in my suitcase! They also come in the cutest knee sock version. As for the vest, I love having an extra layer to throw on under a coat that looks just as cute all by itself, and it adds a little texture to a monochrome outfit.

When I lived in Amsterdam, everyone was always wearing very chic outfits with cool sneakers. Not shoes that you would actually go running in, more like ‘casual’ running shoes. I’m not the best at pulling off this look, but I am obsessed with these Nikes right now and they’re so comfortable. You can also swap out any other pair of shoes with this outfit!

I finally found a faux leather jacket (similar here and suede version here) that I love at Nordstrom Rack and I had to add it to my list! If you follow me on Instagram, it’s the one I wore out this weekend! It probably won’t be the most practical if it’s pouring but it will be perfect for evenings out.

This isn’t a complete packing list, but if you are interested in something like that, let me know in the comments! The weather is going to be totally unpredictable so I’m trying to be as prepared as possible!
