College Fashion Week Recap

Ooops…it looks like I haven’t said anything about my trip to College Fashion Week a few weeks ago! Better late than never, y’all.

If you’re unfamiliar with College Fashion Week, it’s held in a few major East Coast cities every fall, and features all the latest fashions modeled by real college students. It is put on by Her Campus, which, if you are in college, you definitely know about.

I attended CFW for The College Tourist, serving as their social media correspondent and live-tweeting from their account!

Before the show started, you could wander around downstairs and check out the sponsors- Sorel, European Wax Center, Monthyl Gift, and Little Words Project.

Little Words makes handmade bracelets that resemble old-school friendship bracelets, with a word that describes the wearer. You can give it to someone when you are done with the bracelet, and each comes with a number so you can track it!

And then it was time for the show! The clothes were all Forever 21 while the shoes were all Sorel Footwear, known best for thick winter boots but they also make a pretty cute collection of non-snow boots.

Trying to snap quality photos of moving models, edit them, tweet, Instagram, potentially keep up with two Twitter accounts…its stressful! There was a point where I had my camera in one hand and my phone in the other and I was snapping and tweeting at the same time.

Also, it’s NOVEMBER y’all! I know some people are already putting up their Christmas trees but let’s tap the breaks. I love Thanksgiving, so let’s enjoy fall while we can! Because when November 27th hits, all bets are off and it’s officially Christmas.
